Week 28: "Mummy, those girls told me I was adorable..."

Well long time no talk, I feel like its been a whole like 7 days since I've gotten to email you.
So I just have to tell you that I live in BelAir. Ya, like Fresh Princ status. And I'm already in like the richest country in the world and I live in the BelAir section of it. Ha... ya I'm living with the cream of the crop over here... TOO BAD OUR APARTMENT HASN'T CHANGED SINCE LIKE THE 60's and it smells like 19 year old elder ha. So the sisters moved into the old elder apartment 6 weeks before I got here and boy oh boy do i wish their mothers taught them how to clean. I was getting some food out of our cupboard that I just thought smelt bad because the apartment just smells bad in general... but no. There was like garlic rotting into the wood with like all these bugs living in it... I can't believe that I have been living with that in there. Ha, its because I'm so short that I couldn't see into the back corner... So ya.. i used like a half bottle of bleach to sanitize our kitchen this morning.  My next project is the bathroom....there is mold growing every where and we literally live in a house FULL of flies. I can't figure out how to get rid of them. I feel like were living in Africa with flies, silver fish, those bugs in the wood, and our ant problem... you would never guess we're living in BelAir in the richest city in the world ha. Hope that entertains mom a bit.

Beautiful Area...We ride the buses behind me.
So this week was slow again... we like tried our best and our numbers look good, but man, it was a rough week. We got a phone plan so we don't have to pay by the minute and they changed our number and that was a fiasco. we also had to go to the doctor cause my companion can't hear. turns out there is a build up of ear wax. Its been like this since i got here and she can't improve her french cause she can't hear.
We had a good turn out to church this week. We had one investigator that I had never invited to church; I decided to just call her up and ask her if she wanted to go to church, even though she'd have to travel for an hour. She ended up coming with her two kids and was crying during fast and testimony meeting. Then she asked me to bare her testimony for her, so I did! Her name is Hayate.

I can't believe Nicole peed her pants.... oh my.
Oh, so something else that made this week more difficult was that we got the news that elder Oaks can't come see us next week.. It like crushed everyone's dreams. We were so excited to hear from an apostle and all get together. BUT guess what? This week we reached our goal of 100 baptisms!! So our goal was to have 100 baptisms starting like the first of June to the 18th of September.. and we already hit 100! We could beat it! So I think we are at a total of 190 for the year. We baptize.... Yo.
So we were porting and we found this really sweet lady named Lucinda. I tell you more if something actually comes from it.
Last night, last door of the week, we found this cute cute English family which was so refreshing after knocking into loads and loads of scientific atheist men who were all surprised when I told them I was an engineer. We talked with the mom and her 5 year old daughter. At first the mom was nice, but not interested, and we ended up praying with her. Before we prayed I asked for their names and the little girl's name is Immogen. cute right? They both had these super cute English accents. I then asked if there is anything that they would like me to pray for. They told me a couple things and then she asked me something that I had never heard... She said "Do YOU have anything that we need to pray for?" Of course we said our families, you guys.  We then prayed and afterwards the 5 year old said that she wanted to try. Then we asked if we could come back and have an FHE... she said probably but shed need to ask her husband. We exchanged numbers and while the mom was getting a pen, I told Immogen that she was adorable. Immogen ran away and came back and gave us each a little gift, a drawing for me and a bracelet for Soeur Smith. About 5 minutes later we got a text from the mom. It simply said:  "Mummy, those girls told me that I was adorable..."  How cute right? We kept our gifts and hung them up to remind us that there are beautiful families out there. I hope we get to have an FHE with them.
Well I hope to hear from you all soon!!  I LOVE YOU! I cant believe its September!

Love,

Soeur Kohlert
